In an attempt to preserve and protect the natural environment that surrounds Macaneta, the team of environmentalist (Repensar) at the Macaneta Beach Resort Eco- Center have produced the eco-brick.

This is a much needed alternative to the cutting down of indigenous trees and mangroves for the use of firewood. Without these precious mangroves, coastal erosion is growing at a rapid rate an increasing threat on the Macaneta Peninsula.
