Turning glass waste into building bricks

The Macaneta Beach Resort Eco-Centre team have recently acquired equipment that recycles glass bottles to building bricks. The process involves feeding  the bottles through a machine which crushes it and reduces it to fine glass. This is then set in a mold along with other binding substances. Once hardened it forms bricks that can be used in construction. The bottles used are collected through beach and surrounding area clean-up initiatives.

This is a great example of how we can turn trash into something useful. This reduces the demand for mining the earth’s resources which are rapidly being depleted.

Well done to the @Repensar team of environmentalists!
