On 22 March 2025, the shores of Macaneta became a hub of environmental action and community spirit as Macaneta Beach Eco Resort, an esteemed Gold Partner of Tripiverse, hosted the Eco Beach Cleanup & Mangrove Rejuvenation event. This collaborative effort brought together local community members, environmentalists from Repensar, global travelers, and volunteers — all with one mission: to protect Mozambique’s beautiful coastline and foster a cleaner, greener future.
A Day of Action and Awareness
The day began at the resort’s on-site Eco Center, where environmentalists from Repensar handed out mangrove seedlings to local families and youth. These seedlings will grow into resilient mangroves, strengthening Macaneta’s coastal ecosystems and providing long-term protection against erosion and climate change.
Following this, volunteers joined hands for a beach cleanup, collecting plastic waste and debris from the sandy shores. The activity wasn’t just about cleaning the beach — it was about setting an example of responsible tourism and inspiring the next generation to take pride in preserving their environment. The event then moved into an interactive workshop session, where community members learned more about the importance of environmental preservation, biodiversity, and sustainable living. It was truly heartwarming to hear the commitment from young community members, who pledged to play their part in building a cleaner and greener Macaneta.
Impact in Action
This initiative was more than a cleanup — it was a movement for change. Together, we:
• Removed harmful plastic waste and debris
• Replanted resilient mangroves for stronger coastal biodiversity
• Sparked dialogue on sustainability and community-driven conservation
• Boosted visibility for eco-conscious travel in Mozambique
A Shared Vision for the Future
At Macaneta Beach Eco Resort, sustainability is at the heart of our mission. From our Eco Center initiatives to our green hospitality practices, we are dedicated to promoting environmental awareness, responsible tourism, and community engagement.
We are deeply grateful to every volunteer who contributed their time and energy to making this day a success. This is just one of many ongoing efforts in our commitment to a cleaner, greener world, and we look forward to collaborating with Tripiverse on many more meaningful eco-projects in the future.
