This fun and scenic kayak tour launches from Macaneta Beach Resort and heads towards the uninhabited nearby little islands. You will get a chance to see a variety of birdlife and learn about the ecology in the area.
You will experience breathtaking Sunsets on the river on the last launch of the day.
What to bring: Sun cream, sunhat, a dry bag for cell phones and camera’s

Eco Kayak Adventures - Ponta de Macaneta
Guided Kayak Tours
Duration: 6 hours (Approx)
Paddling: Moderate
Cost: 2500 Mts per person
This guided eco kayak tour launches from Macaneta Beach Resort and takes you down the Inkomati River to Ponta De Macaneta, where the River meets the Sea. The duration is approximately 6 hours return (with moderate paddling)
A nature lovers delight as we breathe in the sights and sounds of a variety of birdlife, lush mangroves and plant life along the banks of the river. Bare witness to the flight of pelicans over the still waters edge.
The tour’s highlight is its destination, fondly known by the locals as Pansy Bay at the very tip of the peninsula. Named after the rare Pansy Shell (Also known as the Sand Dollar) that can be found on the vast ripples of sandbanks. Legend has it that these rare shells are sometimes said to represent coins lost by mermaids or the people of Atlantis while Christian missionaries found symbolism in the fivefold radial pattern and dove-shaped internal structures. Meet up at 6 am (Macaneta Beach Resort)
• Tour departs at 6.30 am
• +/- 2,5 hours paddle to Ponta De Macaneta
• Stop at Pansy Bay Approx 1 hour (Light meal and drinks will be provided)
• +/- 2,5 hours paddle back to Macaneta Beach Resort
